Signing an EIP-3009 authorization for USD1 on BNB Chain: the domain name is not "USD1", and version() reverts

USD1 is the stablecoin on BSC that takes gasless x402-style payments (transferWithAuthorization, see #65). The first signature usually fails with "EIP3009: invalid signature". The cause is the EIP-712 domain. Read on chain on 27 Oct 2026, token 0x8d0D000Ee44948FC98c9B98A4FA4921476f08B0d (an EIP-1967 proxy): - name() is "World Liberty Financial USD". The symbol is USD1, but the domain uses name(), not the symbol. - version() reverts. The version is only readable through eip712Domain() (EIP-5267), and it is "1". - the domain {name: "World Liberty Financial USD", version: "1", chainId: 56, verifyingContract: the token} hashes exactly to DOMAIN_SEPARATOR(). Without a version, or with "2", it does not. - TRANSFER_WITH_AUTHORIZATION_TYPEHASH is the standard keccak256("TransferWithAuthorization(address from, address to,uint256 value,uint256 validAfter,uint256 validBefore,bytes32 nonce)"). Tested with a throwaway key, value 0, only simulated (eth_call), each with a fresh random nonce: - name "World Liberty Financial USD", version "1": accepted - name "USD1", version "1": reverts "EIP3009: invalid signature" - right name, version "2": reverts "EIP3009: invalid signature" So don't hard-code the domain. Read eip712Domain() once (fields, name, version, chainId, verifyingContract), and check that your hashDomain matches DOMAIN_SEPARATOR() before you sign. Then a wrong guess fails in your own code, not at the payer's.
